Why Custom Made Military Coins Matter

Military challenge coins are more than custom metal pieces. They carry unit history, team pride, and personal meaning for the people who receive them.

01

Preserving Culture and Tradition

Each challenge coin reflects the history and culture of the organization, commemorating missions, campaigns, and team spirit. By passing them down and collecting them, these coins help preserve military traditions and make it easier for new members to connect with the team’s heritage.

02

Personal Expression and Team Identity

Military coins not only symbolize unity but also allow for personalized designs. Soldiers can showcase their individual style or highlight team characteristics through unique emblems, mottos, or artwork, strengthening team identity and fostering a sense of belonging.

Start with a Logo, Sketch, or Just an Idea

You don’t need a finished artwork file to get started. A logo, an old coin or badge photo, a hand-drawn sketch, or even a rough idea is enough.

We check your design first

Our team will look at small text, thin lines, and overall layout to make sure your idea can work well as a custom military coin.

We suggest the right coin details

We’ll help you decide which areas are better for 2D, which parts can be made as 3D relief, and how colors and plating should be arranged.

You approve before production

Before production starts, we’ll send an artwork proof so you can review the layout, text, colors, metal finish, and main details.

For formal projects

Recognition awards, retirement gifts, and deployment coins for service members usually work well with antique gold or antique silver. These finishes look serious, classic, and help show the metal details more clearly.

For events and team gifts

Colorful enamel, custom shapes, special coin edges, and double-sided designs can make the coin stand out more and feel more memorable.

You do not need to decide every detail at the beginning. Just send us your purpose, budget, reference images, quantity, and preferred coin sizes. We will help you choose a better option based on the design and actual production result.

Military Challenge Coins FAQ

Common questions about designing and ordering custom military challenge coins.

1. Do I need a finished design to order military challenge coins?

No. You can send us your unit insignia, logo, an old coin, a sketch, or simply tell us what you have in mind. We'll turn your idea into a digital proof for you to review before production begins.

2. What size works best for military challenge coins?

1.75 inches is a popular size for standard military challenge coins. If your design has more text, detailed insignia, or 3D artwork, 2 inches gives you more room and helps the smaller details stand out.

3. Can I use military logos, unit insignia, or official emblems?

Yes, but some U.S. military logos, service marks, and unit insignia are protected and may require permission to use. If your design includes an official military mark, please make sure you have the proper authorization before production.

4. Is there a minimum order for custom military challenge coins?

We don't have a strict minimum order, so small quantities are welcome. That said, we recommend ordering at least 50 coins for better value. Since each custom coin requires its own mold, the cost per coin usually goes down as the order quantity increases.

5. Can military challenge coins be made with 3D details?

Yes. 3D relief is a great choice for aircraft, ships, vehicles, buildings, portraits, and detailed military emblems. If your design is mainly text, logos, and colored areas, a standard 2D design is usually cleaner and more cost-effective.

6. How long does it take to make military challenge coins?

Standard production usually takes about 15–20 business days after the artwork is approved. Shipping time is additional. If you need your coins for a retirement, promotion, deployment, memorial, reunion, or another event with a firm date, let us know ahead of time so we can confirm the schedule.

7. Can you ship to APO, FPO, or DPO military addresses?

At this time, we can't ship directly to APO, FPO, or DPO addresses. If you have a standard U.S. shipping address, we can send your order there and you can forward the package to your military address.
