Popular Uses for Custom Commemorative Coins
Wedding Coins
Wedding coins don’t have to be just another favor for every guest. They can also be made for the bridal party, close family, or the people who were really part of the day.
The front and back can carry the couple’s names, wedding date, venue, or even different dates that matter to them, like when they first met, got legally married, and held the ceremony.
Unlike candy, stickers, or other favors that disappear pretty quickly, a well-made metal coin is something people can actually keep after the wedding is over.
Graduation Coins
A diploma shows what someone earned. A graduation coin can capture the class, year, and people behind it.
You can add the school logo, graduation year, program, class motto, or the graduate’s name. They work for high schools and colleges, but also for MBA programs, law schools, training academies, and other graduating classes.
Schools can order them for an entire class, or families can make a smaller run as a personal gift for one graduate.
Festival Coins
Music festivals, food festivals, art fairs, beer festivals, car shows, and local cultural events can all turn that year’s theme into a coin.
One side might carry the main event artwork, while the other shows the year, city, sponsor, or a design made only for that edition. They can be handed out to VIPs, sold as merch, or kept as an event souvenir.
Change the design each year and it can become a series that regular attendees actually want to keep collecting.
Retirement Coins
Retirement coins aren’t only for military retirements.
They also work for longtime employees, teachers, managers, engineers, coaches, and anyone wrapping up a meaningful part of their career. A coin can include the person’s name, job title, company logo, years of service, or even an inside joke that only the team would understand.
What makes it meaningful isn’t just putting “Happy Retirement” on a coin. It’s making something that clearly belongs to that person and the years they spent there.
Souvenir Coins
Museums, visitor centers, hotels, attractions, landmarks, and tour operators can all use souvenir coins as something visitors can take home.
One side can feature a local building, animal, attraction, or landmark, while the other shows the location name and year. They’re small, easy to carry, and work especially well when there’s more than one design to collect.
For a national park, museum network, or multi-stop tour, each location can have its own coin. Instead of buying one souvenir and moving on, visitors have a reason to come back and complete the set.
How to Design Custom Event Commemorative Coins
When you’re planning a coin, don’t try to put everything on one side. Use the front, back, and edge for different parts of the design.
Keep the front focused
Pick one thing you want people to notice first. For a memorial coin, that could be
a portrait, a meaningful symbol, or an image the family instantly recognizes.
Giving that main image more room usually makes the finished coin look much better.
Make the back a little more personal
The back is a good place for details that mean something to the people receiving the coin.
For a family or class reunion, that could be a nickname, an old team saying, a class year,
or a small detail only the group would understand.
Don’t forget the edge
If the front and back already look right, smaller details can go on the edge.
Serial numbers like 001/100, a short phrase, a year, or a simple pattern can work really well there.
When we work on your artwork, we’ll help balance the front, back, and edge so the design doesn’t feel crowded when it’s actually made.

Custom Event Coins FAQ
Have questions about custom event coins? Here are quick answers about size, metal finishes, photo designs, rush orders, custom options, durability, and packaging.
What size and metal are best for weddings, births, or memorials?
For size, 1.75" to 2.0" is a great choice. It feels good to hold, easy to display, and works well for most personal event coins.
For joyful events like weddings and births, we recommend polished gold or silver on brass. For memorials, antique bronze or antique silver gives the coin a timeless, respectful, and premium feel.
I only have a photo or a handwritten note. Can you turn it into a coin?
Yes, absolutely. Just send us your high-resolution portrait photo, baby footprints, handwritten note, or simple sketch.
Our design team can turn it into a free 2D or 3D digital artwork proof within 24 hours. We will adjust the design until it captures your memory the right way.
My event or memorial service is urgent. How fast can I get them?
Standard production usually takes about 20 days, with shipping time added separately. For urgent events or memorial services, rush production generally takes 13–16 days when the design and schedule allow.
We understand that some life moments, such as funerals or early births, can happen suddenly. Please contact us as soon as possible, and we will do our best to arrange rush production for your order.
What custom options can make my milestone coin more meaningful?
Edge engraving can add custom text, scrollwork, or diamond-cut borders to give the coin a more refined look.
Photo printing allows you to add a wedding photo, baby photo, portrait, or other meaningful image directly onto the coin.
Serialized numbering can add unique numbers, such as 001 or 002, or special dates to each individual coin.
Will these coins rust or fade over time? Do they come with packaging?
No. Our coins are made from quality metals with anti-oxidation plating, so they are designed to last for years.
Each coin comes with a free protective acrylic clear case. You can also upgrade to velvet pouches or luxury display boxes for gifting.
